As many of you know, DOGTV held an open casting call Sunday, July 29 in downtown San Diego’s dog-friendly Mission Brewery. Hundreds of hopeful DGOTV stars and their owners all came out for a day food, drink, photos and a little friendly competition.
Casting call attendees were welcomed to enjoy food from Mangia Mangia and It’s a Dog’s World food trucks and beer from Mission Brewery. Along with the yummy food and drinks, Lotus 9 Designs, City Dog and Fido & Co. were also supporting the casting call. The Escondido and San Diego Humane Society were present at the event. While there was no cost to participate, attendees were encouraged to make a donation to benefit these organizations.
Even local CBS 8 Reporter Alicia Coates joined the casting call fun and covered the event for the evening news program – look at all those cute pooches.
After the fur and dust settled, three pups were selected as winners. Filming for the newDOGTV segments was held on Thursday, Aug. 2 and below are a couple of the behind-the-scenes shots.
As you can see, DOGTV’s production staff doesn’t mind getting down and dirty to get the best angles and shots. The day of filming was a success and DOGTV fans should expect the new programming to air soon.

I don’t know how you were able to pick just three from all the wonderful pups who came out to the Casting Call, but kudos to everyone from DogTV for all your hard work.
A shout-out to the great work of the volunteer photographers (yes, a bit of shameless self-promotion here) too!
