Hi humans,
I hope you had a pawesome weekend.
As you know, on DOGTV we have a whole section programs titled “Exposure”, on which we expose dog to various things that tend to scare them, like fireworks, vacuum cleaners or cars.
Taking your dog for a ride in a car is a real problem for so many people – some dogs are really afraid of the journey and tend to cry during the ride, or refuse to get into that car from the first place.
Prof Nicholas Dodman, DOGTV’s Chief Scientist says: “Dog Parents should gradually expose the dog to car travel using “baby steps.” Never rush it! DOGTV can help here by showing the dog images of cars and car travel being experienced by happy confident dogs to the background of soothing, calming music”. Yes, he’s referring to DOGTV’s special car- Exposure programs.
How do your dogs behave in the car? do they like travelling with you? do they hate it? We asked this question on our Facebook page today, because we were truly curious to hear your thoughts on this issue. Here are a few of your answers:
Robin Liscano Carli has a doggie car seat that she rides in, and she loves it!
Eddie Cassar Powell Eddie and Reggie love car rides. Our vehicle is quite high but strapped in their booster seat they can still see out the window
Lauren Kudrak The day I picked Louie up from his foster mom. To this day he jumps happily in the car and still falls fast asleep!
